If you’re craving Moroccan-style mint tea, here’s how you can prepare it at home. You’ll need gunpowder tea, which gives the brew its signature strength, along with some organic mint (Tchaba mint is a fantastic option) and fresh tea leaves.

  1. Boil water in a Moroccan-style teapot.
  2. Rinse the gunpowder tea once or twice with hot water to get rid of the dust and to open the leaves.
  3. Add the tea back into the pot, pour boiling water over it, and let it steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the organic mint leaves and sweeten to taste with sugar, honey, or agave syrup.
  5. Pour the tea into glasses (traditionally from a height to create some foam), and serve with dates or a sweet dessert.

It’s a truly comforting drink that adds a touch of tradition to your Ramadan gatherings or gatherings with your friends and family all year round. You can even serve it alongside your other beverages, creating a diverse and delightful spread.
