The gaiwan’s wide opening lets you observe leaf expansion, control pouring speed precisely, and adjust steeping by tilting the lid. This flexibility reveals a tea’s full potential across multiple infusions.

For most teas, use 5-7 grams per 100-150ml gaiwan. Adjust based on tea type, personal preference, and the number of guests. The beauty of gongfu is customization.

Temperature varies by tea: 75-80°C for green, 85-90°C for oolong, 90-95°C for black, and near boiling for pu-erh. The gaiwan’s open design helps control temperature naturally.
